Changing DNS to Dreamhost
-
Hello all.
Changing the DNS record for my domain (westcoastbias.org) that I registered with WORDPRESS, trying to point the servers to DREAMHOST. I’m fully aware that changes may take up to 72 hours to be seen, but I’d like to confirm I entered the records correctly based on the information I received from Dreamhost.
Dreamhost servers are:
ns1.dreamhost.com
ns2.dreamhost.com
ns3.dreamhost.comThe DNS records I entered through wordpress are:
MX 1 ns1.dreamhost.com.
MX 1 ns2.dreamhost.com.
MX 1 ns3.dreamhost.com.Can anyone let me know if I did this correctly, or if there’s still more I need to enter? Thank you.

I now believe the problem has to do with me not being able to enter the “A” record part of the DNS records with my root domain of westcoastbias.org, because apparently I can only do that for subdomains. Any help?

Hey there!
It looks like you were trying to add our DreamHost nameservers as MX records, which was incorrect. However I noticed you were able to hop on LiveChat with one of our technicians who was able to point you in the right direction. I see westcoastbias.org resolving from our nameservers correctly at this time. :)
If you need any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to start another LiveChat, or submit a ticket to our support team via the panel at Support > Contact Support
Thanks!
