    Hey!

Since the update towards wordpress block editor, I am unable to switch a document on a page. I can’t find the code anywhere in the block because since the update eveything has been stransformed into one cmlassic block, so the documents and their links are not put into seperate blocks. Can anyone help me?

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. Your site is connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin, but we don’t have access to your editor and don’t have direct control over how your site works.

I’m guessing these are documents you linked to, correct? If so, you should be able to just click on the linked text in the editor, click the pencil icon that should appear, and replace the media URL for the document (assuming you’ve already uploaded the document to the library).

Or what I’d consider to be the simpler option: Convert the contents in the Classic Block to regular blocks – the instructions @staartmees linked to above should work for your version of WordPress as well. Then you can use the File Block to insert a new document.

For more help with this, you can ask the WordPress.org community who makes the version of WordPress you’re using on your site.
