  how do I change the wordpress subdomain, i.e. user.wordpress.com to newuser.wordpress.com

  There are two ways. While logged in, go to http://wordpress.com and add a new blog with the new name to your account. The other way is to log out and then go to the same URL and create an entirely different account with the new name.

  There is no way to change an existing wordpress.COM blog URL.

  The only way you can change names would be to create the second name and then use the “export” and “import” functions built your dashboard.
