Changing Domain

    Hello! I was wondering, can I create a blog with a free domain name (name.wordpress.com), then change it do a .com domain (my title.com), or do I need to register the domain right off the bat?

    You can register a custom domain name (cool-name.com) anytime and Domain map it to your existing blog anytime you want –

    One point – you loose search engine ranking when you change names, and it takes a while for the ranking to come back, so if you are going to use a custom domain name – then sooner is better

    but – you can upgrade anytime you want
