Changing domain

  HI,
  I have a Wix site up and running. Its a business site. I can’t afford for it to disappear. WP want me to register my existing domain and transfer before I can start designing my new site. However I need time etc to develop the new WP site and can’t lose Wix in the meantime. Why can’t I build a WP site, get it how I want it, and then transfer Wix to WP?

  Yes :) This is a very common question. Go ahead and build your new site on WordPress.com. Import your content, customize the theme, get it all ready to launch.

  Keeping the new site private will help prevent any SEO confusion since you’re going to have the same content on two different addresses.
