changing domain access

  • Unknown's avatar

My original web designer got Covid and I had another website designed by someone else. I need access to my original domain though because it matches my email. Thanks

  • Hi there,

Can you please let me know your site’s address so I can point you in the right direction of getting support?

    Yes the url is

    www.
    Jacki-brown.com

My original web designer got covid and I haven’t been able to reach her for many months.

I had another website designed but I need access to this domain because it matches my email.

    Thanks,

    Jacki Brown

  • Hi there,

Jacki-brown.com is connected to a different account and email than the one you are contacting us from. In order to regain access to Jacki-brown.com, you’ll need the login credentials to the connected account. If you are aware that the email connected to your account isn’t the correct email, can you provide the email that is connected to this account?

If you have access to the email but don’t have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:

    http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    Cheers,

I can provide you with this info and also I received an email to my personal email ( (email visible only to moderators and staff) ) saying that my domain will expire in a few weeks so my email must be connected somehow?

I don’t understand why I have now spent close to a week trying to get this resolved.

I can provide you with this:
Registry Domain Id: [redacted by staff]

    Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.sawbuck.com

  • Please don’t post private information in these public forums. A registry ID is also not information we can use for account recovery purposes.

The email you received at your address for the msjackibrown account was sent directly from our registrar. This is because that is the email you provided as the admin contact for the domain.

But the WordPress.com upgrade for that domain belongs to a different WordPress.com username account associated with a different email address. Only someone logged in as that other username can point or transfer this domain somewhere else.

Did you register that domain yourself, or did your web designer register the domain on your behalf, using their own WordPress.com account?
