Changing Domain Address

  Hi,

  I created a website early last year for a political campaign, and am trying to repurpose it now for a non-profit I am a part of. Since I already mapped my domain in WordPress to the political one, is there a way I can un-map in and remap a new one?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  As @timethief mentioned, I will need to know the originally mapped domain and the domain which you would like mapped instead.

  Additionally, if this username was not the one which was used to purchase the mapping then you will need to log in from that account and comment on this thread that you agree to have this mapping changed just so we can ensure that the owner of the mapping approves of the change.

  Thanks to both of you.

  The currently mapped domain is coutureforrecorder.com. I would like cmcscap.com mapped instead. This is the same username/account as was used to purchase the premium upgrade/custom domain mapping.

  Hiya,

  I’m afraid this username was not the one which was used to purchase that upgrade. You can see which account was used by logging in to the site’s Dashboard and then going to Store >> My Upgrades. On that screen you’ll see all of your upgrades listed and on each item you’ll see the username of the person who purchased the upgrade. If you could have that person comment on this thread I would appreciate it!

  Our mistake, we handle all upgrades through this account. Yes, I do agree to have the mapping completed.

  No problem at all! I have changed that mapping over. You will now just need to change the nameservers for cmcscap.com to WordPress.com’s nameservers:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Once you do that, give it a couple of hours and your site should resolve to that domain. If you’d like to set that domain up as your primary domain you’ll just need to follow these instructions:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/domains-settings/#changing-your-primary-domain
