Changing domain host/server

    Hi,

A few months ago, I bought a domain from WordPress.com. I wanted to change the domain host/server (I’m not quite sure of the distinction because I’m new at this) so I registered and bought a server at EngineHosting today.

I’ve followed the instructions on http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/ (I’ve only done step 1) and it’s been working fine on my new server but every once in a while, I would be redirected to the WordPress blog.

In other words, when I type my website into url, I get two different sites (changing every two hours or so): the WordPress blog that’s empty and the new website I coded. Is this because permanent changes are not made?

    Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

How long has it been? It can take a couple of days to settle down so it always works.

It’s been about 12 hours, I think. The thing is, it directs me to my new server and to WordPress blog arbitrarily. Sometimes, I see my new website on my computer but when I try it on a friend’s, I get the WP blog.

    Thanks.

Patience Grasshopper – resolves fine for me

You are seeing caching issues on the internet and maybe your local ISP – the routers and such are not updated all at once across the internet – it can take 24 to 72 hours for things to migrate across the internet.

Looks like things are a bit slow today: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/seunghomattyang.com
