Changing domain name

  I would like to change our sit’s domain name from greatbaycondominium.wordpress.com to greatebaycondonj.org (yes greate has an e on the endo of it). How does that work? Will users still be aable to access both the old domain names as well as the new one? Is there a cutoff date after which the old name disappears…….what? I’ve seen the help page and the greatebaycondonj.org is available.

  Hi there,

  I will try to help you with this. I see you wish to have a custom domain name greatebaycondonj.org for your blog.
  To have a custom domain you’ll need to upgrade to a Personal, Premium or Business plan. Only these plans provide you the feature of having a custom domain.

  Will users still be aable to access both the old domain names as well as the new one? Is there a cutoff date after which the old name disappears…….what?

  Both the domain names stay with you. Once you upgrade and have a custom domain, it becomes your primary domain and the old domain name will be secondary.

  Visiting any of those domains, will redirect visitors to the primary domain so both remain functional!
