Changing Domain Name

  I’ve gone into my admin dashboard under Settings and then General. No option to change url or domain is offered. How do I change domain/url ?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Are you trying to set up your site to have a domain name like “Silentclicks.com” or do you want a new wordpress name, like thisismysite.wordpress.com ?

  I finally logged out and logged back in. Strangely, my whole options for settings changed and had all the options. Sorry, and thanks for the offer of assistance!

  Hi there,

  If you’re trying to change the domain on a self-hosted WordPress site, please don’t just change it in settings. That will just cause your site to break and lock you out of WP-Admin completely.

  Your hosting provider might also have their own process for doing this, so please check their documentation as well.
