Changing domain name

    If I change my free domain name, will all the things I’ve done to my blog be lost, or will they just automatically go with the new name? Does the same apply to altering the domain name as well? Thanks

    f I change my free domain name, will all the things I’ve done to my blog be lost, or will they just automatically go with the new name?

    When you change the address of a free wordpress.com website using this utility https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/ the old free address is then unavailable and everything “moves” to the new free address.

    Does the same apply to altering the domain name as well?

    Do you mean if you purchase a custom domain name as part of a WPcom plan? If yes, then the custom domain becomes your primary address and will appear in place of your free WPcom website address.
