Changing domain name

  Hi,
  I am in the process of making a website. I am using the wordpress free plan to try out my website first, then possibly changing to the paid plans. I am wondering if it is possible to change my domain name to my own bought domain name when upgrading to the paid plans?

  Hi there!

  Sure thing, when you upgrade to any of our paid plans, you will be able to use your custom domain.

  You can either map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related. Domain mapping is free with any plan.

  Or you can transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :) Transferring the domain is free for the first year, after that the yearly price will depend on the domain’s extension (TLD):
