Changing domain name on WordPress
-
For my blog, I would like to use a domain for which I get the error “Sorry this site is reserved” (the address would be sfilip.wordpress.com). From browsing around support forums, it seems that it could be possible for WordPress Support to have it unblocked. Would that be possible?
Thanks

I’m sorry but that’s not possible. When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username.
You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

I have a problem with my domain name, it was wrongly spelt, what are the options for me?

Just register a new one – same account – spell the new one correctly – use the old one to practice with – set it to Private
New blog – when logged in cursor over your name at the top of the window in the gray bar – Click on Manage My Blogs – then Create a New Blog at the bottom of the page
