Changing Domain Names
-
Hi. My domain createfolly.com recently expired and I was never notified to renew. This domain has now been bought by a third party and I can’t get it back. I need to talk with customer service to get this resolved. Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve this issue. I would be emailing you from that account but it doesn’t even show that it exists any longer.

Hi Matt,
createfolly.com was mapped to WordPress.com but this upgrade expired four years ago (the domain was only ever mapped here, not registered with us).
The domain itself was registered through GoDaddy so they will be the best people to contact for more information about the possibility of getting the domain back or renewing it.
Best of luck!

Thank you for the information.
What do you mean the upgrade expired? Does that mean the domain was just floating around and free to be purchased by anyone? I’m trying to figure out how to reinstate the createfolly.com domain. It is registered with GoDaddy but they are saying that it was purchased through someone else. The only other person I dealt with with this domain is WordPress. Is there any history of purchase through WordPress? I can’t find any emails addressing this upgrade expiration or domain expiration.

Hi there,
You had registered that domain through GoDaddy and only pointed it (map) to your WordPress.com site here.
If you let that domain expire and someone registered it then you need to contact them (if possible) and ask them if they can transfer it back to you. However, the most appropriate place to ask any questions regarding your domain is GoDaddy.
