Changing domain payment option from one user to another

  An account was created under one user’s wordpress login, they paid the $17 per year to have a domain connected. We’re now taking over the support of that website, when the domain renewal came up however if I click the Payment Options button under the domain in domain management (which is the only button available) it takes me to a page wanting me to choose from plans starting at $38 per year (no option to just renew domain like he has). How can I transfer the domain renewal interface from his user to mine?

  Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

  You cannot remove the actual owner of the site.

  If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  How can I transfer the domain renewal interface from his user to mine?

  Thanks @timethief & @gemmacevans, we followed the instructions provided by @timethief but ran into trouble as the transfer domain button wasn’t available for the domain we’re wanting to transfer, so hopefully @gemmacevans can help!

  The domain we’re trying to transfer is bccag.org.au, essentially I want to be paying the renewals from now on as the previous user is no longer managing that site (but it’s linked to his account which IS managing other sites).

  Hi benmerton,

  The domain we’re trying to transfer is bccag.org.au

  The domain bccag.org.au is registered elsewhere and mapped to your WordPress.com site with Domain Mapping.

  I can transfer the Domain Mapping upgrade to your account but I need consent from the current upgrade owner, mullum2011. I can either content them by email or they can login to their account and reply here.
