  I am very new to this so bear with me. How to I link or forward my journeysthrugrief.wordpress.com to my domain

  It’s called domain mapping. You can begin to find out more about it here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-a-domain/

  It is an extra cost service. And it does not work on a path like you gave. It only works on a whole domain, or a host name. You could use “blog.sweeney-alliance.org” or “journeysthrugrief.sweeney-alliance.org”, for example.
