Changing domains

    Hi there,

I just recently bought a new domain for my website, “quagganspress.com”. I had the original “quagganspress.wordpress.com” registered with Google analytics, however I’d like to know if I should re-register my site under Google analytics as “quagganspress.com” now, and remove the “quagganspress.wordpress.com” site from Google.

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Just a bit more information:

If I Google search Quaggan’s Press, it still shows “quagganspress.wordpress.com” in the Google search, so I am asking whether or not it will update accordingly to my new URL, or if I have to manually remove that URL from Google analytics, and add my new one.

Sorry I’m not sure how to edit the posts here, but I meant to mention Google webmaster, not Google analytics.

    Hi there,

WordPress.com automatically sends notifications to Google with every post and page update. However, search engines can take 4 to 6 weeks (or more) to add any new sites.

For more information about WordPress.com and search engines, please see this guide:

Okay, thanks! So it should update automatically show the “.com” URL, instead of the “.wordpress.com” URL?

You’re welcome! Yes it should :)

    Cheers!
