Changing domains and hosting
-
I have been using Godaddy for years. But I am finding them increasingly frustrating, and jetpack keeps saying my site goes down. Godaddy doesn’t take it seriously, and they are iffy when it comes to net neutrality anyway.
So. I don’t want to buy domains from them anymore. I don’t want to host my site with them anymore. I wanna switch it all to wordpress. Bonus, it would all be less expensive to boot (pleasant surprise!)! So, how do I move? If I have to, I will start all over on my website. I have all the content saved, but I have no idea how to switch who I am buying my domains from. (they renew next month) I tried Googling how but I think I am using the wrong words because I get hits about how to point a Godaddy domain to another website, but that’s not what I wanna do at all. I basically went to end all services with Godaddy and shift to WordPress.com directly for everything.
I apologize for being hella newb at this and asking such newb hat questions.

Hi there,
We have put together a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to transfer both your site and your domain here on WordPress.com. Here it is:

If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you. Technically that answered only half my question, but I don’t think that matters so much right now. After reading the the FAQ section I see that I would have to have the business plan to use my plugins which makes doing what I want with wordpress very expensive from the get go. I’m too small right now to afford the business plan, so now I gotta rethink this.
Also, I spoke in error earlier. I fact checked myself. Godaddy is apparently for net neutrality.

No worries. We will be here if you decide to change things over. The plan is refundable for 30 days after purchase.
