Changing domain/URL… reservation issue.

    Hi,

    I recently bought the domain thelightitburns.com

    I am trying to make a blog through WordPress of the same name on a free program. Somehow, though, I wound up with my URL being thelightitburnscom.wordpress.com (note that the ‘com’ before ‘.wordpress’ is not supposed to be there).

    When I try to change my URL to thelightitburns.wordpress.com, it says that name is already reserved. This is confusing to me because I think that *I* was the one who reserved that name, considering I bought the domain name.

    Is there any way to fix this?

    Hi there,

    A reserved address means there exists a username that is the same as that address, and only that username can register that address.

    However, if you’re going to connect the domain you already own this doesn’t matter. If you connect a custom domain visitors to your site will never see the free address, but they’ll only see the custom domain.
