I want to change the email address to which notifications are sent. It is currently (email visible only to moderators and staff). I want to change it to (email visible only to moderators and staff). Thanks!

Hi there, the notification address can be set in your WordPress profile. Just move the mouse over your profile photo in top right corner, choose Account Settings, provide the new Email Address and save. You will have to confirm the change clicking on a link sent to you later by email.

What is the URL of your site please? I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and the hosting.

As you registered this wordpress.COM account 6 years ago and there is no URL for a blog linked to your username, and as this is an empty site https://judyharper.wordpress.com/ it’s possible you are referring to a self-hosted wordpress.ORG install.

Will you please confirm the URL and where the site is hosted before providing responses to forum threads? WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are separate and different, have different logins and Admin panels, and support docs.

Good. :) Here are some tips.

Step 1 – Be crystal clear on all differences between wordpress.COM hosted sites and self-hosted WordPress.ORG sites and direct bloggers using wordpress.ORG software to the correct support forums. Never offer wordpress.ORG support in threads here as it leads to confusion and frustration for bloggers who experience both and incorrect answer and a time waste.

Generally, if one cannot provide a correct, complete and actionable answer it is best not to post anything at all and to simply subscribe to the thread and learn. That is especially true in money matters for domains, refunds, upgrades etc.

Step 2 – Always click the “member” link under the username. There you can see when the account and the possible site were registered. One can learn even more by clicking the member link. One can see if there are duplicate threads answered or unanswered. One can also ascertain the posting history and when it may be wise to steer clear of posting into a thread and let an experienced Volunteer answer it instead.

If a blogger is has become argumentative in a support thread wherein another Volunteer has tried to help and is insulting the Volunteer, or if any blogger posts a thread and is ranting about anything in it is best to steer clear.

Step 3 – Confirm the URL and hosting.

Step 4 – Use tag search, Google search to locate the most recent correct answers provided by Staff and experienced Volunteers that you can to backlink to and use support docs searches too.

Step 5 – Compose and post a correct and complete answer including relevant links.

Never respond in a spam thread. Most are bots and those that are human can become trolls almost instantly. Tag the thread with modlook and spammer in the sidebar and move to another thread.

NERTS! Please ignore my unintended repetition in the last 3 paragraphs above. I’m visually challenged and I made a copy-paste error.
