Changing editing style and 'more' doesn't work

• Unknown's avatar

I’m having two problems.
1: I accidentally told it to use this new editor when making posts, and I want the old style that I remember, back. How do I?
And 2: The <!—more—> option doesn’t work in hiding things like spoilers in my post. How do I make it do so? Also, is there a way to install a simple

plugin without having to be forced to use your Enterprise thing? It keeps thinking I want to add a store to my blog and I don’t.

The blog in question should be listed in here.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. If you’ve clicked the link at the top of the Classic Post Editor to use the New Editor, frankly I don’t know how to undo it. You can access the Classic Post Editor in your site’s Dashboard here: https://beniesgamesblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

Hopefully that won’t redirect you to the new dash post editor. If it does, first try logging out of WPcom and clearing your browser’s cache and cookies (which will log you out of all sites you are currently logged into).

If you are still unable to access the Classic post editor, please add the MODLOOK tag to the Tags section of the forum thread for Staff assistance.

2. The “more” tag only shortens the display of your posts on the front page of your site. You can’t use the “more” tag in the single post view to hide parts of your post. And as you have already seen, you can’t install 3rd party plugins on your WordPress.com website regardless of upgrade to Premium or Business. (The Enterprise tier is hundreds of dollars a month and also has a limited set of additional plugins.)

Besides the suggestions here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/invisible-textspoiler-text?replies=12 , some of which are not “accessible” friendly, you might consider creating an entirely separate Page or Pages for your spoilers and then link to it within your post.

Since you can have an unlimited number of Pages on your site (which won’t be visible in a Custom Menu unless you add them to the navigation menu) using page jump links in your post. See here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/

Hope that helps. If you need more assistance please let us know.

Ach!

Since you can have an unlimited number of Pages on your site (which won’t be visible in a Custom Menu unless you add them to the navigation menu) using page jump links in your post.

should have read:
Since you can have an unlimited number of Pages on your site (which won’t be visible in a Custom Menu unless you add them to the navigation menu) you can add separate Pages for each spoiler or a single Page using page jump links in your post.
