Changing email

  Hi, I had 2 wordpress accounts and cancelled one but want to switch the other one that is still active to the one i cancelled’s email address. How can I do this? It says that email is still being used by another user (my old account that I deleted).

  Hi @henrysillen14, I’m not sure what the old address is, but if it’s gmail or a similar provider, have you thought about using an alias? Instead of using this:

  (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Use this:

  (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  You can make that +1, +whatever, +doesnotmatter … whatever letters or numbers make the most sense to you. Gmail will ignore the plus sign and anything after it. But we won’t, so it’s in effect a second email account that delivers to the same address.

  If you weren’t using Gmail, check to see if your provider offers a similar option.

  If you still need help though, can you share the desired address here? If you’ll type it here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it. We’ll check to see what options you’ve got.
