Changing email address

I am trying to change my email address and I haven’t received the confirmation email. What should I do? I haven’t used the meail address I set the blog up with for a couple of years and no longer own it. I wish to upgrade my blog but I am not prepared to do that until it has the correct email address. I am trying to change it in my username settings on the top right hand corner. It says: There is a pending change of your e-mail to…….. Help!

I can see your pending email address requests. Have you checked the new email account, including your spam folder, for the confirmation email?
If you do not have the email, please contact us via email from the address you wish to use, which will confirm you own that account. In that email, please include #304737-f in the subject line as well as your WordPress.com username (thewineys) so we can manually update your email address for you.

I have now been sent an email with a link which I have clicked and it takes me to the main wordpress page. Where do I go on the page to confirm the email change??

I have updated your account to the email address you listed, and changed your password.
Please go to https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and use your new email address to reset your password, and you should be all set.
