changing email address

  I keep trying to change my email address from my old wordpress account and it tells me that it is pending confirmation of the change… but when I get the email confirming to change it tells me to just ignore and delete the email.

  Im confused

  Could you let me know the email address you’re trying to change to on your justinbruby account? Please note, the email address will appear redacted in the forums, but it will be visible to staff.

  sure, I am trying to change the email address on the justinbruby to (email visible only to moderators and staff). I wanted to delete that account because I started a new account mavr5. I realized that I can’t delete the justinbruby account (frustrating)… I want to have my new account mavr5 have (email visible only to moderators and staff) but it keeps telling me that I cant update my profile because that email address is already taken. Im stuck, please help.

  also, I’d like to discontinue operating out of the justinbruby account all together and just base everything from mavr5- any suggstions?

  Hi Rhett.

  It’s worth noting that the confirmation link will go to the updated email address, not the old one. The description of the email you received, which told you to just ignore and delete the email, is what we send out to the old address. Can you check the address that you tried to update your account to for the confirmation email?

  I’m unable to find an account with the username you mentioned, mavr5, in our system just yet, so wanted to mention that it’s also possible for you to change the username associated with your current account from justinbruby to mavr5 via your Account Settings:

  This is where the mavr5 is located with the new email address (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  When I go to update settings it tells me that this email above is already taken. Don’t get it. Also, if I can login to this as mavr5, why can’t you see it?

  For future, should I use the forum login for mavr5 for posts about that account?

  The site you provided a link for, justinruby.com, isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com. It’s hosted through another provider and running on the free WordPress software available here:
