Changing Email Address

  Hi,

  I would like to change my email address on this account to (email visible only to moderators and staff). However, I just cancelled another wordpress site with that email address and so it is acting as if it is still there. Do you know when and if I will be able to change it over?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,
  Register a throwaway email address (Yahoo or Gmail, for example) and use it to free up your email address currently in use with the other WordPress.com.

  Log out of your current account, then log into your old account. Go to Account Settings (https://wordpress.com/me/account) and replace the email listed with the throwaway one. When you click the Save Account Settings button, there’ll be a message saying that there’s a pending change and to check your inbox for confirmation. Check the inbox of the throwaway email address and click the confirmation link in order to confirm the email address change.

  After that’s done, log out of the old WordPress.com account and then log into your current account. Go to Account Settings, update your email address, save changes, check your email, and click the confirmation link.

  I am now trying to delete the entire account not just the website. How do I do that?

  @rawmccoy – You’re welcome.

  @lorinumerologist – WordPress.com doesn’t have the option to delete an account, but you can cancel email notifications and remove your personal information: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
