Changing email address

  Hi! I recently created a new WordPress blog that is self-hosted. I am having difficulty with changing my email address on my current account. I used to have a wordpress.com account under my primary email address. How can I use this primary address in my current account?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  I used to have a wordpress.com account under my primary email address.

  If the email address is still associated with the other account, then you may have to free it from that account in order to use it on the account with your self-hosted WP.org site.

  From the Issues Changing your Email Address [sic] section of the Update Email Address support page:

  You can use a different email address that is not already in use, or you can log in to the account currently using your desired email address and change it to something else. Once changed, you can then reuse the email on a different account.

  Thanks for your response! My dilemma is that I can’t seem to change the email on the other older account. It keeps telling me that the email is already in use! What should I then do?

  Whenever you change an email address, you can only change it to an email address that is not in use. Create a new email address if necessary for the older account.
