Changing email address
-
I created a WordPress account for a person who does not currently have a WordPress account. I am trying to switch the email address to theirs instead of mine.
When they click the link to sign in, they enter their email address and the text “email address invalid” shows up.
Do they have to create another blog on WordPress in order to access this one?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there, if I understood your above post, you created the account using your email address and not theirs?
They won’t be able to log in using their email address until you’ve changed it in the associated account profile. https://wordpress.com/me/account and they confirm the email address change.
Let us know how that goes.

I see that someone has also tagged this thread for Staff assistance, so to take this one step further, please type here the email addresses involved. Type them as you would normally and the forum software will redact them from public view, but Staff will be able to view that information. Thanks.

Hi there,
I can see the email address request on your account, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. Please ask your friend to check their inbox for a confirmation email from us. They’ll need to click the link in that email first, before they’ll be able to use that email to sign into the account.

The email addresses involved are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Please see my reply above. The owner of the other email address will need to confirm the change before they’ll be able to use it to log into the account.
