Changing email associated with my account
-
I have been creating a blog for my mom, and when I opened the wordpress.com account, I used one of my emails so that she wouldn’t be bothered with notifications during the design process….and so that /I/ would get the information/notifications I needed while designing her site.
Now, the site is basically done, and I want to change the email address associated with the account to hers. She does not have any other wordpress.com accounts associated with that email address. I changed it in the account settings, and a confirmation email was sent to her email address. She clicked on the link, but the account required her to log in using my email address (the original one), and it still says that the request to change the email is pending.
The support article on this topic just says that once the new email address is confirmed, it should switch and that if it doesn’t it might be because another account is already associated with that new email address. Since neither of these scenarios is true for us, I don’t know what else needs to happen in order to change the email address over to hers.
Help please?!

Hi @lifesmith2014,
Can you try logging into the WordPress.com account prior to click the confirmation link in the email? Just a note, you may need to redo the change email steps to regenerate a new confirmation email.
This way, you shouldn’t be asked to login when you click the confirmation link (since you’re already logged in).
