Hi there,
Hello, I’m trying to figure out if its possible to customize the emails that alert our followers that we have posted new content?
No, you cannot Customize the emails that are automatically sent by our system.
Can you please tell us more about what are you trying to customize?
I am tagging modlook to this post, so someone from staff would comment on this. Thanks!

vishalmukadam –
Good morning. You are correct. It’s not possible to customize the outgoing message on those email notifications.

It used to be that themes supporting custom post excerpts used the excerpt in the RSS feed from which the email/publicize is generated. Perhaps this is no longer the case or I misunderstood?

Hi there,
In what way do you want to customize them? The only option to customize it is to control whether or not the email contains the full post, or just an excerpt.
This can be done via the RSS feed settings, as @justjennifer said above, at My Site ->Settings ->Writing.
You can also control this on a per-post basis using the More Tag in your posts:

Hi @kokkieh – actually I was referring to hand-crafted post excerpts. If you look at the support guide I linked to, it says:
Depending on the theme, excerpts you assign may be displayed on your homepage, RSS feed, or archives page. Your theme will also determine whether or not your excerpt is followed by a link that points readers to the full-length post.
In the past when you created a hand-crafted post excerpt, it was mailed in place of the short automatic excerpt, as well as being pushed out to social media. As I said, perhaps this doesn’t work any longer *and of course is theme dependent.*

Setting a custom excerpt in the editor will cause the notification email to send that excerpt rather than the post content if the feed setting is set to excerpt, yes.
