Changing Email Forwarding
-
Hello,
I am an archivist at a local library. The old archivist left, and the email forwarding still goes to her email, and we just want to change that somehow. I CANNOT change it the traditional way ‘manage–>domain–>email forwarding’. We have a free domain, but the email forwarding DOES WORK for the email she set the site up with, but she retired, and we need to change that one email. Is there anyway to make this happen?
Thank you for your time.

And I have been told that you get email forwarding when you pay for a premium domain, BUT it absolutely works for one email so how do I change it. is it unchangeable after the initial creation of the blog?

To be clear, Email Forwarding is if you register a custom domain like
example.comYou can then have email sent to (for example)
you (at) example (dot) comgo toyou (at) gmail (dot) comSo, for email forwarding, you’d first need to register a custom domain.
Instead, it just sounds like you’re referring to the email address that notifications are sent to.
If so, you can change that at https://wordpress.com/me/account and if you are not yet the owner of the site, they can transfer the site’s ownership to you following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/

Hello,
Thank you! It seems I’ll need the site owner to swap over ownership to change the notifications (or just change them for us). Thanks for the help!
