Changing email id in personal settings

  i need to change the e-mail id mentioned on my personal settings page to my gmail account from my hotmail account – so that I receive notifications on the former instead of the latter. But each time I try to change it, wordpress says:

  ERROR: That e-mail address is already being used.
  ERROR: The e-mail address is already used.

  I have already changed it in the general settings section.

  Can you PLEASE help me change it?

  You cannot use the same email on more than one WordPress.com account at a time. You should log in to the account that is currently using your email address and change it there first. That will free up the email address so you can use it on a different account.
