changing email in wordpress when old email no longer exist
-
I am trying to change my email address that forwards my leads to me on WordPress. My old email got hacked and no longer exist…wordpress sends a confirmation to this email that no longer exist and I cannot change it to get my leads?

Are you trying to change this on a specific site, or your WordPress.com account?
If a specific site, what’s the URL of the site?

Could I add my query to this one, as I have exactly the same problem (with my WordPress.com account). The confirmation e-mail seems to be sent to the e-mail address that no longer exists, so that I can’t confirm the change, and I’m stuck with all my notifications (including any concerning this question), etc, going to a non-existent address and (presumably) bouncing.

Hi,
The confirmation e-mail seems to be sent to the e-mail address that no longer exists, so that I can’t confirm the change
Actually the confirmation email gets sent to the new address. Then the old address will get a notification that the address was changed, and ask them to notify us if that was not intended. So you should still be able to confirm.

That’s odd; the message comes up saying that a confirmation e-mail has been sent, but none arrives in my In box (and I’ve tried the Spam folder too). I’ve tried this twice now. What could be going wrong?

OK, I deleted the change request, and made it for the third time — and it worked. I still don’t know what happened the first couple of times (nor why, when I first posted here my avatar photo showed up, but now it’s been replaced by a green pattern) — but human beings aren’t able to understand everything, so I’ll leve it there.
Thanks for your reply.
