Changing font color

If you have a WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plan, you can add custom CSS in your Theme Customizer.
If you have access to that, this code will make your text bright with an outline text shadow. Modify the code however you would like:
.site-header, .site-branding, .site-header a, .main-navigation a, .social-navigation a{ color: #ddd; text-shadow: 3px 2px 2px #000; } .site-header a:hover, .main-navigation a:hover, .social-navigation a:hover{ color: #fff; }Happy blogging!

Thank you for help Jesse!
As @cesarborgiaticum is under the free plan, I just wanted to mention that there is a selection of free colour palettes to choose from via the Colours & Backgrounds panel of the WordPress.com Customizer.
@cesarborgiaticum: Have an experiment with those free palettes to see if any of them match what you’re after.
More advanced Custom Design options are included as part of the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans. You could consider upgrading and using the custom CSS provided by @jessestu if the free options don’t work for you.
Let us know if you have any extra questions, also.

Thank you, @siobhyb. I haven’t figured out how to know what plan people are using.
Happy blogging, @cesarborgiaticum.

Is there a way to change the font color on the main banner if I am using the free version? I have the same issue, the text color is too dark set against my background and can’t be read.
Thank you!

@jessestu: There isn’t an easy way for you to see if someone’s on a plan (I’m only able to see that information in our backend system). A clue that you can look out for, though, is whether there’s a custom domain attached to a site.
@alyssayokers: You can choose from a selection of free colour palettes under the free plan via the Colours & Backgrounds panel of the WordPress.com Customizer. Select the “Palettes” button within that panel to see the different palettes available to you.
Hope that helps! If you have any extra questions then please can you start a new thread on this forum? You can do that here:

It’s easier for us to keep track of different questions if they’re kept to separate threads and also prevents the original poster from receiving unnecessary email notifications.

I have the same question and I know we can choose from the palette but how do we change the font color. Choosing from the palette only changes the background.

@nathalieannehaw: Selecting the “Palettes” button over the background tab will give you a choice of different colour palettes. Switching between them will change your site’s colour scheme, including the colour of your font.
If you’d like further control over your site’s colours then you could consider upgrading to WordPress.com Premium or Business. Both of those plans include more advanced Custom Design options.
If you have any extra questions around that the please feel free to start a new thread on this forum. You can do that here:
