Changing Font Colour Using Pilcrow Theme

Hello,
I’m having trouble changing the font colour on my blog with this theme. I change it but when it saves the colour is still default.
Any idea of what to do?

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here, including font color changes throughout the whole blog, > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to wordpress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.
If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

If you are expecting to be able to click a button and change fonts throughout your blog then it’s not that easily done. Any font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, post titles, page titles cannot be done without CSS editing.There are 4 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
(1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

@jessekoepke, I now encourage people to use inline CSS instead of font tags since that is where the web is pushing things and with each new release of the XHTML standards, more and more HTML tags are being depreciated or going obsolete. Font tags get the boot with HTML5 and wordpress has already moved over to mostly HTML5 doctypes.
This would be what I would recommend:
<span style="color: #000000;">WORD</span>Just a few of the tags going bye-bye: font (all forms such as size, color, etc.), big, strike, “u” for underline, center, acronym.
