Changing Font Colour When Posting Through Android App

    Is there no way to do this? you can bold and underline so it seems weird you cannot simply change the font colour..

    Yeah, that used to frustrate me a lot too. I’ve figured out a solution myself, but I’m not sure if it’s the best, and I’m still hoping for an easier way.

    You can use this code in the HTML editor to change the text. You can replace the name of the colour (eg. Light purple) with the text you want coloured.

    Light purple

    <span style=”color: #99ccff;”>Light blue

    Really light blue

    Light green

    <span style=”color: #ffff99;”>Light yellow

    Peach

    Pink

    Orange

    Dark purple

    <span style=”color: #ff0000;”>Red

    You can replace <span> for <p> too with text. For example:

    <p style=”color: #ff0000;”>Red

    Staff – Perhaps you could offer a better solution? But please, just an idea from the community, allow us a better way of changing colours of text within the app. Thanks. :)

    The Apps do not at this time have the ability to more easily change text colors for page and post content. It may or may not be something that is added in the future.

    I would suggest adding your idea and voice to the App support forums listed here.

    I have gone into html mode to change the colours, but this is a pretty roundabout way to do this – hopefully they will take our advice at the App support forums! It seems like a feature that should be supported.

    Hello thesacredpath,

    The link you provided only allows messages on the wordpress for android forum with a wordpress.org account – do I need to make a new account to post my comments here? Is this app the same as the wordpress.com app?

    Hi Josh,

    I see you were able to successfully post to the mobile app support forums and your post can be found here:

    The WordPress apps are developed as part of the WordPress project which lives at WordPress.org which is why you were asked to create a new account.

    I also did look through the open issues over at GitHub and found some discussion around adding the text color option to the editor. If you’re interested you can look over some discussion in the following issues:

    I think the first one is more along the lines of what you’re looking for. As thesacredpath mentioned, we’re not sure if the feature will be added but it does look like there’s been a bit of interest from users in bringing it back over the years.
