Changing font size

    I’m using Adobe Garamond Pro and by accident added it in the wrong font size (too small). I need to enlarge the font size to 18 or 24. I have Custom Design and the CSS for my theme (Pilchrow), but I can not find the correct “button” to click that will let me make the change. I sent an e-mail to Typekit and they sent me two links, neither one of which solved the problem. In fact, they left me even more confused. Could someone please tell me in standard English how to change the font size for Adobe Garamond Pro? I am completely lost here. Thank you!

    I have a related problem. Suddenly the font in one whole blog – profacero.wordpress.com – is so small that I can’t even read it with a magnifying glass. This makes it hard to tell what to do to fix it.

    My other WordPress blogs are unaffected so I don’t think I made an inadvertent system change on the computer or anything like that — although I have just changed computers and OS and may have hit a button I shouldn’t have.

    Please advise?

    @profacero: I have no problem seeing your blog so I think it’s your browser. Press Ctrl 0 to reset the zoom and see if that helps.

    I’m using Firefox 5.0.1 and the fonts on profacero’s blog in this post http://profacero.wordpress.com/2011/08/08/computers-and-programs/ are extremely large in size. I suspect that the content was copied and pasted.

    @profacero:
    Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

    Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.

    As you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

    @mettaanderson, I’m not seeing any Garmond, but this should get you going. The first bit is the main font setting. Change the 14px value as you see fit. Do not us pt on the web, and really all fonts should be done in either em units or as a percentage, but follow what is in the theme. The second bit changes the content of the widgets which I’m sure you will want to change as well.

    body, input, textarea {
    font: 14px/1.7 Georgia,"Bitstream Charter",serif;
    }

    .widget {
    font-size: 12px;
    }

    Check all the other pages and also any comments to make sure they changed as well. Sometimes designers will set font sizes all over the place.

    @airodyssey – that worked, thank you so much!

    @timethief – many thanks to you, too! As it turned out, I didn’t need to do this, but I appreciate it and I am saving these instructions!

    You’re geniuses, y’all! :-)

    @timethief – wait, I see what you see – I do need to do this. The fonts are large because I was trying to fix the problem and fixed it wrong. I’ll see what I can come up with. Thanks again.
