Changing Font Style and Header

OMG this CSS is going to kill me…..waaaay over my head on this. Got a couple questions for the CREATIVE theme.
1.)how can I make the Featured Image shorter (I love the width but it’s way to tall for what I’m looking for
2.)What codes do I need to change font style, color, and size in footer and menus?If you guys can help me with this, you’ll save a life because I’m about to implode. :(

I’ve read that link a couple few times tonight and still don’t understand. I’ve copied and pasted into the CSS editor and the only thing that happened was a distortion of my portfolios and my posts. I only want to change the featured image (the slider at the very top of the page)
the fonts and sizes are still the same too :(
What am I doing wrong?

Oops, sorry. I thought the featured image is your post image. Because when I saw your website at the first time I didn’t see the big image.
How about try to copy paste this CSS;
.nivoSlider{ height: 500px; }But I’m afraid the image will be cut off. If you are ok with that then apply it.
About the font size, lets try to change the selector;
.primary ul a{ font-style: italic; // options: italic, bold, normal color: #aaa; // you can put any hex color; font-size: 20px; // change with any number you want in px } .site-footer .widget-title, .site-footer .widget-title a{ font-style: italic; // options: italic, bold, normal color: #aaa; // you can put any hex color; font-size: 20px; // change with any number you want in px } -

That worked with the featured image (I can always switch out the image later to one that won’t be cropped)
I managed to change the font size and color :)
Still confused about a couple things…..
You see how the theme I have has a color change when you hover the mouse over a picture or link? A bright pink color?
How would I go about changing that? -

You can change the pink color (now I see that is green) with this;

When I hover over one of my portfolios or posts, it has an arrow and it says “view portfolio” or “view post” underneath the title. How do I change those words?Thanks again – you are a life saver.

And do you know the exact dimensions i need for my featured image slider? The content is horribly grainy :( also, what ppi would I use? The images look terrible!

Of course you can. If you want to change font of page title you can use .site-header #blog-title selector. Eg;
.site-header #blog-title{ font-family: your-font-here; }I’m not sure how to find specific font-family if you use Typekit (because WordPress Premium use Typekit). But if you want to use web safe font you can use this http://www.cssfontstack.com/.

I think your image is ok. I’m afraid it because of your image size setting on media setting. Please use full http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/#attachment-display-settings image.
