Changing Footer

I’m trying to change the footer on my blog. Currently using the Black-LetterHead by Ulysses Ronquillo design and I want to remove the wording on the footer. I’ve figured out how to hide it completely, which I do not want to do. I primarily want to remove the links, if not the all the wording.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I cannot help you with the css editing you will have to wait for another volunteer to help you. However, I have been thinking about this.Css customization amounts to editing so adding a notation to the theme footer stating it was edited or styled by yourself is ethical. However, covering over or replacing the link to the theme’s designer with information that makes it look as though the blogger “created” the theme isn’t ethical, is it?

/nod to timethief, I agree it certainly isn’t good form to take away the link to the author of the theme. The author is the one who put in all the work and they deserve credit.

Adding to the footer requires the use of pseudo CSS stuff, and the problem with that is that Internet Explorer does not recognize or support pseudo CSS stuff, so that means that nearly half of the people surfing the web will not be able to see any additions. The text/links in the footers are defined in the underlying theme files and we do not have access to those, so we cannot really change it.

If you do away with the header, it is common courtesy to put the author’s link and name in a text widget at the bottom of the sidebar and then add that it was stylized by the blog owner. A sample of such can be seen toward the bottom of my right sidebar at my blog here: http://opposablethumbz.wordpress.com/ .

Could you be more specific about the pseudo CSS stuff? I don’t disagree with the ownership issue, I just simply do not like how it appears in the blog and would like to alter it to get the look I’m going for. Any altercation I do doesn’t seem to work, besides changing the color.

    Thank you!
