changing footer
-
I am attempting to use our wordpress page more as a webpage rather than a blog and am trying to change the footer from “blog at wordpress” to “powered by wordpress”.
I don’t mind buying the css editor, but I’ve played around on it and have learned a few things through trial and error but I’m not that comfortable with it. I am using the vigilance theme.
Thanks in advance for any help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The only way to change the footers is with the Custom CSS Upgrade.
Mind you, “Powered by WordPress” is the default footer for self-hosted wordpress.ORG blogs. Blogs hosted on wordpress.com have “Blog at WordPress.com” as their default footer. By changing the footer as you suggest above you are trying to be something you are not.

I don’t know why any blogger would want to “hide” who their web host is and/or pretend they have their own servers when they don’t. They only bloggers I have experienced who did this in the last 6 years have ALL been content thieves who scrape blog contents and post it on splogs. The fact they removed the web host name from the footer meant that I pulled out all stops when it came to tracking the content thieving ___holes dow,n and making DMCA complaints to their web hosts to get my content removed form their splogs. The two who refused to comply with taking my content down had their splogs deleted, and their accounts banned and “blacklisted” by their “former” web hosts.

If you don’t mind using a free blog here, you shouldn’t mind that footer promoting it. You CERTAINLY shouldn’t attempt to mislead people about the status of your blog.

I think what they want to do more than anything is to take away the “blog” moniker since they are going for a website look and feel.

Then changing that footer’s not going to do it, as everyone knows WP is blogging software.
