-
i’ve been blogging on wordpress for years, but now i want to change from a blog front page, to a static front page, with my blog as a link from the static front page, without losing all my blog posts, but what i’m finding, is that when i change my front page, my blog totally doesn’t show up as one of my pages at all. if i change from a latest post front page to a static front page, how do i keep my blog? i’m using an older theme, called Duster. my blog is https://emmarosenthal.wordpress.com/

Hello,
There’s a good tutorial from the ‘Learn WordPress’ team, on how to create a static website using WordPress.com. Please check this out:
https://learn.wordpress.com/bonus-round-get-a-home-page/but what i’m finding, is that when i change my front page, my blog totally doesn’t show up as one of my pages at all. if i change from a latest post front page to a static front page, how do i keep my blog?
The reason why your blog was not showing when you changed your front page, was because you had not set a separate page for ‘Posts’. For this, first, you need to create a blank page – you can give it any name: for e.g. ‘Blog’, or ‘News’ should do. Then, In ‘Settings’ > ‘Reading Settings’, you’ll find a section called ‘Front Page Displays’. You must have chosen the option ‘A static page’ – here, under the sub section ‘Post Pages’, choose the ‘Blog’ page you have just created, and save the changes.
Now, when you visit this ‘Blog’ page, you can find your latest blog posts. :)
Cheers!
Hari.
