Changing from a free blog to a self-hosted WordPress blog

  Hi,
  I want to change my free blog (Topknotfamily) to a self-hosted WordPress blog where I can run ads/affiliate links etc. How do I do this, and can you walk me through it? Also what are the price points? I’d like to do it as soon as I can.
