Changing from a personal blog to a website

  I currently have a personal blog (https://whereveubeen.wordpress.com) and would like to convert it to a website, what is the best way if going about doing this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  A blog is essentially a website. Can you please tell us more about what you wish to display or change on your site? Or your idea of a website?

  The issue is essence is with Internet explorer. On my current page it has https://whereveubeen.wordpress.com as an address and ideally I would like to have it as http://www.whereveubeen.com.

  I have found that when trying to do a search on either Google, Chrome etc. it does not appear. I have also checked with Google application and it is currently set up as a personal page and not public.

  As @omkarbhagat says, a blog is a website and vice-versa. Some themes are more blog-like than others. Some themes work well with a more page-orientated setup. You appear to have two brand new sites, both of which are visible.
  http://wherehaveyoubeenweb.wordpress.com and https://whereveubeen.wordpress.com

  To have an address without the .wordpress you’ll need to purchase an upgraded plan.

  Of course none of this has anything to do with finding your site(s) on Google. They are new and have no content. Post enough unique interesting content and in a month or two you may get indexed by the search engines.

  Is the Internet Explorer issue anything that I can change on my page?

  Hi @whereveubeen,

  If you wish to setup something like XYZ.COM address then internet explorer has nothing to do with it. So don’t worry about it.

  So what is the difference between having a website as www. compared to https:// ?

  HTTPS is basically a secure protocol. Again you can totally ignore this if your aim is to setup a domain name like XYZ.COM.

  Now to answer your main question –

  XYZ.com is like the main domain you can say.

  While something.XYZ.com is a subdomain.

  All WordPress.COM sites are on subdomains, for example, my website is omkarbhagat.wordpress.com is on a subdomain where the main domain is wordpress.com

  However if I wish to get a main domain like TheAwesomeOmkar.com, I can do that by purchasing upgrades.
