Changing from blog to .org – need help!

  I initially started with a wordpress blog and bought my domain through WP. I realized what I need to do with my site is limited by the blog platform. So, I purchased a hosting account through Hostgator, downloaded WP, uploaded via Filezilla, downloaded a theme that suits my organization, uploaded that via Filezilla. When I went to login to the php login, it comes up with my good ol’ WP blog and says “page not found.”

  I’m now all mixed up reading the support & FAQ’s pages, and trying to figure out what to do. I have nothing on the WP blog site I need to save, so I don’t need to do the export/import transfer. I’d delete my blog, but since I purchased the domain, WP won’t let me delete it.

  Any help (in simple terms – I’m still new!) is appreciated – thanks!

  The domain is still pointed to us.

  You’ll need to change your name servers to point to your new hosting provider following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
