Changing from .com to .org
-
I currently produce this blog for a ski shop I own in France. I’v been doing this for two months and I’m really impressed by the wordpress format. I’d like to move across to the .org site so that I can place a shopping cart on the page. Firstly is this going to be easy? I’ve not got much of a computer background, do you have to start changing coding or is the back offic similar to wordpress .com? Secondly does anyone know a good shoppoing cart platform and roughly how much thi will cost. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s not terribly hard, but it IS a learning curve.
WordPress.org isn’t a host. You have to find a host and pay for hosting. Then you install software from WordPress.org and away you go.
Using it to blog is pretty much the same as WordPress.com. You can easily install plugins and new themes; the instructions are literally all over the web, just Google it.
As for what shopping cart platform to use and what cost, those are questions to research at WordPress.ORG.

Thanks, rain coaster. I have a host, once I install the software is it easy to move my current blog over and will it move everything including the theme and continue to look the same?

No, the theme will not move. Themes here are specially adapted, but for many of them there are corresponding themes for WordPress.org.
