changing from photobucket to flickr
-
Well my bucket is starting to get near its limit on storage space and since the fee for flickr is wider and cheaper than that of photobucket I am thinking on switching – however currently I can set a photobucket link to display a 200 pixel thumbnail in my blog that links (upon clicking) to a 1000 pixel showing of the photo – by having both copies uploaded to my bucket and changing the auto generated link from the bucket for the 200 pixel shot to link to the 1000 pixel version and not the 200 pixel.
Also by copy and pasting the url of the photo direct it shows the photo only, not with the other bucket bars and menus – makes for quick and clean viewing. Now is there any way I can do similar with a flickr link – I have tried and so far have had no luck

Found the answer – I should really get out of the habit of asking before experimenting
here is it for all that are interested:copy and paste the html code from flickr for the size of photo you want to appear in the blog – eg here is my 200 pixel sized shot from flickr
now look at the code and the first section between the two ” which starts with ‘http’ and ends with ‘Flickr’ is the address that the code links to. To make it a perminant like to the fullsize – or larger, version of a shot first open the shot in flickr and view the size you want. Now go to the bottom of the page and there is the URL of the photo = click it and copy it. Now delete the all the code between the first two “” and replace it with the URL for the photo – and there you go instant link to the large version.

darn – sorry the codes have broken in the post and its gone unreadable and there is no edit function = here it is again with the code (hopefully) readable

please note gaps in http are added only to prevent code from activating – like above – actual code has ono gapes no spaces between the <> symbols

Ya know, WordPress has a 3 gig limit. Thats a lot of photo’s. And you can size them in the blog and make them clickable to a much larger size. And it’s free.
