Changing from self hosted wordpress to business plan of wordpress.

I’ve an existing live site that is self hosted on wordpress. Now I want to use WordPress Business plan. While purchasing I’m asked for domain name. If I add my existing domain of my self hosted wordpress and make the purchase, will my live site get affected? I want to understand, that if my existing live site will work as it is or not.

I see what you mean, and that’s an important distinction to clear up. If you add your existing domain during purchase here at WordPress.com, nothing will change right away. What matters is whether you update your domain’s DNS settings to point to WordPress.com. If you do, the domain will begin loading your new WordPress.com site instead of your current self-hosted one. Until that change is made, your live site will continue to function as it does now.
