changing from wordpress.com to my own domain name

Hello. I want to upgrade to a paid wordpress account but am worried about the domain change. If I change to a .com, for example, how will the people who have my wordpress address be able to find me? Thanks for advice in advance!

Hi there,
If you change your xyz.wordpress.com website address to xyz.com then any request going to xyz.wordpress.com will be redirected to xyz.com domain once you set your new .com domain as a ‘Primary Domain’.
In above example you can replace xyz in xyz.com with any domain of your choice for new URL.
So people can visiting old website address will also redirected to new website address.
