Changing from WordPress’ net service to WordPress-program?

  I started a blog with the help of the WordPress on line tool, but now I want to download the program and use it for my blogging.

  1. Can I import my present blog to the the program?

  2. Can I use the same name?

  You can’t use the same wp.com URL as you would be now hosted elsewhere away from wordpress.com. As to exporting out your data, there’s a couple FAQs on the subject already:

  You may want to search here in teh forums for terms like ‘export’ and ‘moving’ as this is a much discussed topic.
