Changing from wordpress.com to wordpress.org

I’m trying to move over to a self-hosted site with BlueHost. I have exported my wordpress.com site but this has been split into two .xml files. When I try to import it to my wordpress.org site, initially an error page would appear ‘405 Not Allowed nginx/1.10.2’ and after spending hours talking to the BlueHost support centre, they have said that there may be problems with the .xml files since some of my blog posts and photos are successfully uploaded. I have tried to upload both .xml files numerous times to my wordpress.org site and I kept getting this error page. I then reinstalled wordpress.org and tried again. This time, I got messages saying that it failed to import the author and that a lot of the files already existed. This may be the case but almost all of my blog posts, photos and comments still have not been transferred over. Please, please could someone help me as I really don’t know what to do! I didn’t realise that making the move would prove to be this much hassle. Thanks so much.

    Hi there!
This question would be better answered at the forums intended for self hosted content (.ORG) That forum is at
    https://en.forums.wordpress.org

If you do not have an account there you will need to create one.
