Changing front page

    I’m using my wordpress blog as a web site, using the Sapphire template. I’d like to delete or hide most of the links along the righthand side — the search engine, subscribe, archives, categories — and replace them with a short list of links that lead to other static pages (Bio, Articles, Books, Contact). Any instructions on that on WordPress?

    You will have to use a text widget, or multiple text widgets. My suggestion is to use the visual post editor to write everything and put in the links and such and format it as you like, and then when you are happy with it, switch to the HTML tab, copy everything out, and paste it into the text widget.
